Learning Music..A case study..

Joined a Guitar class at Koramangala in Bangalore..You know one thing..Playing Guitar is not as easy as it seems to be and it takes quite a lot of effort before we can play a song..My master told me a story here.

The above picture shows the students enrolling for each instrument and the number of students present on the respective week given on left hand side. We can see that the number of people retained to learn guitar is very low as it progresses. I was suprised when this info was given by master and thought that it may not be true..But..as i learn each day..i am realizing that it takes quite a lot of effort to play it..The fingers first have to get hardened to bear the pain in pressing the strings hard. The next thing is practice..It takes good amount of time before we can play a song on guitar and master told that one of his students plays a couple of songs in 3 months and thats a great thing.

From all this i realised that i am not putting the required effort into guitar and music is a thing that needs perfection. There is nothing like getting pass marks and jumping to the next class. We need to play a song perfectly..So..I shall consider all these and try to allocate the prescribed one hour of practice everyday.
